The Art Gallery

Welcome to our Art Gallery.  In our minds, there has always been a strong link between the books we collect and love, and art - Books or book covers that require beautiful illustrations -- books by artists about their art.  Here we are currently featuring several examples of this.  The original paintings that were featured on the covers of the late Andre Norton's most popular books;  and the watercolors by Ernest Franklin, the long-time illustrator of the late Tony Hillerman's books,   Then, of course, we are also featuring the beautiful art & designs of Peter Thorpe and the beautiful gold and silver acrylic paintings of world-reknowned Yuri Gorbachev.   And don't overlook the category of "Other Artists;" there are some jewels in there too,  including Woody Woodpecker and X-Men animation cels .

Wondering how to hang your pictures when you receive them?  A good rule of thumb is to hang artwork so that the focal point of the image is at approximately “eye level,” or about 5 to 5-1/2 feet from the floor. When hanging a framed work relative to a piece of furniture or mantle, the bottom of the frame should be 8 to 10 inches above the top of it.
