In “No More Goodbyes: Circling the Wagons around Our Gay Loved Ones,” Pearson addresses the pain and division experienced by LGBTQIA+ individuals and their families, particularly within religious communities, and offers validation to those who’ve suffered cognitive dissonance, physical, spiritual, and psychological harm caused by exclusionary teachings, and offers practical steps for both families and communities to “circle the wagons” around their loved ones as an act of radical acceptance and protection.

Pearson has cited Byron Katie, founder of “The Work,” as a mentor and influence, especially when it comes to questioning painful, ingrained beliefs often inherited through family, faith and society. Pearson, an activist and feminist with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, has explained that she sees her mission as “bridge-building” between faith and LGBTQIA+ inclusion, emphasizing compassion and connection over dogmatic teachings and divisive views.

She later founded the The LDS Women Project, which shares interviews with LDS women worldwide.
