A particularly appealing copy for a mystery collection, especially because of the additional note that many collectors seek for unique additions to their literary libraries

Tony Hillerman is credited with changing the face of detective novels with his introduction of characters Jim Chee and Joe Leaphorn. The typical detective novel, until his publications, had been heavily influenced by British novels and TV. Hillerman's reach extended even further once his novels were adapted into PBS movies, exposing his audiences to a Navajo police officer rather than the usual status quo investigator. Hillerman's novels have been adapted to TV, with the most recent being "Dark Winds" for AMC, produced by George R. R. Martin and Robert Redford.
