A unique First Edition, First Printing (so stated) bound in tan cloth with jacket. Inscribed to Ralph Morgan (actor) on front free endpaper by co-author Jean Hersolt who starred as Dr. Christian on the long running radio program: "To Ralph and Daisy Morgan with love from their old friend Jean Hersholt, Christmas, 1944". Jacket has soiling and wear at edges, liquid stain and tear on rear jacket.; liquid stain on boards near spine, pages yellowing.
