Harper & Row, 1970. First Edition, First Printing. Linen Boards. Near Fine / Near Fine in Archival Plastic Cover. Item #4195
A handsome true First Edition, First Printing with all the points of issue and no Caldecott medal. [Hanrahan 75]. Bound in cream linen with color pictorial label, the book is in near fine condition, square and solid but showing touches of soiling. But the gold endpapers are clean as is the interior pages and their lovable images of one of Sendak's most popular books. The dustjacket is complete with the original price ($4.95) and "Harper & Row/Publishers/1070" on the lower front flap. The lower flap is clipped not affecting any of the issue points. The dustjacket shows touches of wear with a small tear on the top of the spine but is otherwise solid and colorful, protected by an archival plastic dustjacket. A nice copy of a book that is now over 40 years old!
