A handsome dark green leather First Edition of John Updike's popular book, signed by the author. With marbled endpapers, gold gilt cover designs and page edges, and bound-in silk bookmark. In overall nice condition but the gilt has been rubbed off on the bottom edge and there are other very light touches of wear. Thus the reduced price. This book was made into the successful movie by the same name starring Jack Nicholson as Daryl Van Horne, alongside Cher, Susan Sarandon, and Michelle Pfeiffer. John Updike is the recipient of almost every major artistic and literary honor, including the National Medal of the Arts and the Pulitzer Prize for Literature (twice).
