New York: Random House, 1962. First Edition, First Printing. Decorative Boards. Near Fine / Very Good++ in Plastic Cover. Item #2763
A charming First Edition, First Printing of one of Dr. Seuss's most popular books. The book is in near fine condition with brightly decorated boards and is very square and solid. With rubbing on the bottom of the spine, very minor, and lightly bumped edges, also very minor. A few very light foxing spots on the endpaper and a small rub on the top edge with touches of browned glue at the edge, otherwise with a bright and clean interior. The dustjacket is complete with all first issue points including jacket price "295/295" and the correct ad listings on the back panel. There are spots of soiling on the dustjacket and a small chip off the top spine edge with two small tears but without the heavy chipping usually seen in this edition. Note: There is a slight yellowing to the dustjacket that does not appear in the picture but overall a very special copy of this important children's book and one of the nicest we have seen.
