The Long Walk

Easton Press, 2004. Collector's Edition. Full Leather. Fine in Original Shrinkwrap - New / No Jacket as Issued. Item #2742

A beautiful dark brown leather Collector's Edition signed by the author just a few weeks before his death on April 5, 2004. Slavomir Rawicz's story is a tale of survival -- after escaping a Soviet labor camp in 1941, Rawicz and a small group of other prisoners walked out of Siberia, through China, the Gobi desert, Tibet and over the Himalayas to British India. Rawiza never saw his first wife, his parents or siblings, or home country again. The story was first published in 1955 and at age 88, at the time of his death, Mr. Rawicz was still answering letters from people all over the world inspired by his book. With gold gilt cover designs and page edges, moire silk endpapers, bound-in silk bookmark and still in the original shrinkwrap with Publisher's Note and Certificate of Authenticity from Easton Press.
