A handsome Deluxe Lettered Edition signed by the author and H.R.F. Keating who wrote the Appreciation, on the limitation page. One of 12 lettered de luxe editions, this is letter "K." In quarter-bound burgundy leather and decorative boards, the book is in fine unread condition but for a very tiny light mark on the attractive light green topstain. The dustjacket is complete and fine but for a small tear at the bottom of the spine. The lettered edition is very scarce. Barry Maitland was born in Scotland and brought up in London. After studying architecture at Cambridge, he practised and taught in the UK before moving to Australia where he is Professor of Architecture at the University of Newcastle. "The Chalon Heads" is his fourth novel.
