Peter Thorpe

Peter Thorpe is a well-known Editorial Illustrator who has had his beautiful paintings on the covers of books by many best-selling authors,  including Frederick Forsyth's "The Fourth Protocol," and  Garrison Keillor's "Lake Wobegon Days."    In 1986  he got his first Tony Hillerman manuscript, "Skinwalkers," from Harper & Row, and his painting was selected for the cover.  And so began a long career with the late Tony HIllerman; to date Peter has done paintings for over 40 editions of Hillerman's mysteries.

He also has a love of space science and served as Creative Director for the Space Frontier Foundation from 1988 to 2008.  During this time he began painting his highly successful "Rocket" paintings, many of which are now owned by many in the space community and authors such as Spider and Jeanne Robinson, Ben Bova, Andrew Chaikin and Vanna Bonta.  See more about Peter's "Rocket" paintings on his website.
