A beautiful and scarce Limited Numbered First Edition by Ernest Hemingway, numbered 296 out of only 300 copies on the limitation page opposite the title page. Bound in the original red-orange cloth, the book is square and solid but shows the typical light discolorationj of the cloth. The pages are tan and the edges rough cut. Includes the glassine dustjacket and an acetate cover, all in fine condition.
Measuring twelve pages, this is the first appearance of Hemingway's powerful and effective short story, published later the same year in "Winner Take Nothing" but as a more censored version. [Hannenan A11A]. A very nice copy of a scarce Hemingway story.
