New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1914. First Edition. Cloth. Very Good. Item #3630
An interesting First Edition of "Through the Brazilian Wilderness" by Theodore Roosevelt. In very good condition with still bright gilt lettering across the front board. Sharp corners with light rubbing. Beautiful gilt top edges with mild fading. Over 30 glossy black and white illustrations. 2 full page maps and a rear fold out map in quite bright and fine condition. No signs of foxing. Lovely rough cut pages that show natural darkening. Light to moderate chipping of cloth at spine ends, although title is still clear. Solid brown cloth binding with a small stain on back cover, rather minor. Split hinge at rear end page with some loose pages in middle section, although book still holds open well. Contemporaneous inscription. In very good condition, truly an admirable piece. A fascinating book detailing Roosevelt's adventurous trek in South America during the early 20th century.
