A handsome First Edition signed by Maurice Sendak on the half-title page. In near fine condition, the book is complete with 261 illustrations, including 94 plates in full color (some multiple page foldouts), the original Sendak Red Riding Hood popup (a tear at the bottom of the popup tab), a facsimile of the first seven pages of the earliest dummy for "Where the Wild Things Are," in 278 pages. The page edges show minor touches of wear/soil but overall very nice. Previous owner's inscription on the front free endpaper. Complete with the original acetate dustjacket with white titling as issued.
