A Numbered Limited Edition of this Chaucer classic signed by the Printer, George Jones, at The Sign of the Dolphin in Gough Square, London from the Linotype Granjon designed by him. Rendered into modern English verse by Frank Ernest Hill who wrote the 16-page introduction. This two-volume set is numbered 847 of 1500 Limited Editions produced. Both volumes show minor shelf wear, slight discoloration from age and some adhesive remains of a bookplate previously affixed to the inside of the front covers. Slipcase shows moderate rubbing and aging. Overall the books are very good in a very good slipcase. The second volume is still encased in the fragile glassine cover but with some tears. The volumes are large as is the slipcase and the production is impressive. Parrish Books guarantees all signatures as authentic.
