A beautiful First Edition, First Printing (so stated) of Tim's O'Brien's scarce first book, his autobiographical account of his tour in Vietnam, inscribed by the author "To Joe" in black felt pen on the title page. In gold cloth and loden green boards with embossed vignette on the front cover and clear black titling on the spine. There is a neat contemporary inscription to a previous owner on the half-title page dated 7/13/73. In a first issue dustjacket with the original price on the front flap ($5.95) and the code "0373" on the rear flap. The dustjacket is bright in color and shows only minor closed tears on the edge. Protected by an archival plastic dustjacket. By the author of "The Things They Carried," and "Going After Cacciato." A beautiful signed book. Scarce.
