Original Artwork, 1993. Signed by Illustrator. Condition: Fine drawing. Fine matte. Fine frame. Size: 14" x 17" framed. A wonderful original Sendak tight pencil drawing on vellum of the backdrop for the play "So Sue Me" written and directed by Arthur Yorinks and performed at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. in 1993. Signed by Maurice Sendak on the lower right corner and also inscribed to Arthur Yorinks: Feb. 6-13, 1993/ So Sue Me/ To Arthur - with all my love! Maurice." Visible drawing measures 9 1/2" x 7 1/2", overall 17" x 14" matted and framed in a nice mahogany wood frame. Also includes a 6" high drawing of a costume design for the same play, also signed by Maurice Sendak; it is in fine condition but unframed. Obtained directly from Arthur Yorinks who we met on February 1, 2004 when Parrish Books traveled to Sendak's home in Connecticut to collect over 300 signed books purchased from Sendak. A picture of all of us including Sendak and Yorinks is included. Scarce. Parrish Books guarantees all signatures as authentic.
