Gauntlet Press, 2005. Originally published in 1972, "The Halloween Tree" is a Bradbury classic. This edition features Bradbury's preferred text and many extras. Signed by Ray Bradbury. Limited Lettered Edition, Signed by Author. Binding: Full Leather. Book Condition: Fine - As New. Jacket Condition: Fine. Slipcase Condition: Fine metal Lidded Box . Size: 8vo - over 7.75" - 9.75" tall. A beautiful Limited Lettered First Gauntlet Edition, signed by the author on the limitation page and lettered "EE" of 52 Limited Edition Lettered copies. Includes the beautiful metal laser-engraved lidded Box (measuring 12 x 14") with the beautiful Halloween Tree from the cover art of the book in a decorated metal pop-up that lifts up from the face of the metal case complete with its dangling golden Halloween goblins. The lid of the lidded case is lined with plexiglass and a golden metal goblin insignia fastened to the inside edge of the case is engraved with the letter of this limited edition, "XX." Also includes two 8 1/2 x 11" prints from the book's cover art signed by Ray Bradbury and suitable for framing. Also with the 9-page chapbook "Fragments," which contains fragments of 8 unfinished Bradbury short stores with cover art by Ray Bradbury. All of the pieces of this beautiful set are in fine condition but for a small rub on the plexiglass liner a very small rub on the back of the dustjacket, all from production; both are very minor. The 494 pages of the full leather-bound book include a typeset version of Bradbury's preferred text, the original manuscript (complete with handwritten corrections) Bradbury sent to Knopf publishing, a screenplay Bradbury wrote before he wrote the novel (in manuscript form) and the typeset version of his Hanna-Barbera screenplay. The front and back covers are decorated with reproductions of oil paintings of Halloween trees done by Ray Bradbury. A handsome set, the first Gauntlet metal lidded box and tree, and one of its best to say nothing of being the most elaborate production of this Bradbury favorite you can possible imagine. Scarce. Parrish Books guarantees all signatures as authentic.
